• Indonesia: Christians continually face opposition in building churches
  Despite their constitutional right to freedom of religion, Christians in Muslim-majority Indonesia face an uphill struggle in obtaining the required permits to build churches: both the government and local Muslims oppose them. 
• Nigeria: 10 Christians slaughtered ahead of gubernatorial election in  Kaduna state
  Ahead of an important gubernatorial election which made for an especially tense political atmosphere, a further 10 Christians in Nigeria’s Kaduna state were hacked to death by militants armed with machetes last week, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.
• Mozambique: US missionary pilot and SA volunteers released from prison while criminal investigation continues
  While they must remain in Mozambique pending further criminal investigation, an American missionary pilot and two South African volunteers from the US-based Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) have been released from a four-month prison term in war-torn Mozambique, the Christian Post (CP) reports.

  Islamic State terrorists in the Democratic Republic of Congo have confirmed that they recently killed 35 people whom they claim are “Christian” in Mukondi village in North Kivu province, the Associated Press reports.

  A Church of Christ in Nations pastor and his two sons were shot dead by Islamic militants in Plateau state, northern Nigeria at the weekend, AIT reports. Tens of thousands of Christians have been murdered by Islamic extremists in Nigeria since 2015.
• India: Hindu nationalists vandalize Gideon Bible stall at fair, accuse Christians of entrapment
  A group of Hindu nationalists vandalized a Gideons Bible stall set up at the New Delhi World Book Fair in India last week, accusing the volunteers running it of “trapping” Hindus into Christianity, the Christian Post (CP) reports.
