Today’s Poem: Sounding Brass

to GOD be the GLORY

~ Sounding Brass ~

By Deborah Ann

Sounding brass,
sharp and shrill
the call to charity
they can’t fill.

They seem to appear,
so strong and wise
but yet so oblivious
to charity’s cries.

Tinkling cymbals,
sound so sweet
but give no charity
to those they meet.

They look sincere,
so meek and small
yet still can’t hear
charity’s needy call.

Sounding brass,
tinkling cymbals
have not agape love . . .
plain and simple!

~~~~~~~
1 Corinthians 13:1
“Though I speak with
the tongues of men
and of angels,
and have not charity,
I am become as
sounding brass, or a
tinkling cymbal.”
