Sometimes in bed,
I lay awake . . .
and I think about
all the heartbreak.
The sorrow, the loss,
of all who don’t believe
and I pray that Jesus
they would receive.
Sometimes in bed,
I lay sleepless . . .
and think about
all the bleakness.
The malice, the violence,
of all who darkness sow
and I pray that Jesus
they would come to know.
Sometimes in bed,
awake I lay . . .
and I pray more lives
would see the Way!

bless them that curse you,
do good to them
that hate you,
and pray for them which
despitefully use you,
