When I look to the Cross,
raised high upon Calvary’s Hill
I see Jesus’ agony and pain . . .
of completing His Father’s will.
I see shoulders slumped over,
a thorn-crowned head hanging
I see where man left his mark
where sin, left its branding.
When I look to the Cross,
where the sacrificial blood flowed
I see the nails in hands and feet
the love for me, Jesus showed.
I see my own sinful nature,
how Jesus’ death set me free
I see the shame of my disgrace
and it takes me to my knees.
When I look to the Cross,
raised high upon Calvary’s Hill
I see the need to die to myself
and do my Father’s will . . .

own will, but the will of him that sent me.â€
