A broken spirit,
sin’s conviction
a life now rid
of its infliction.
A contrite heart,
pride’s rejection
a life now free
of its direction.
A humble mind,
greed’s ejection
a life now rid
of its reflection.
A soul repentant,
shames detection
a life now purged
of its condition.
A broken spirit,
humble and contrite
is a life no longer . . .
without His light!
