~ I Have Me A Debt ~

I have me debt,
that I need to pay
not all at once . . .
but as I go my way.
For, I owe it to God,
to trust and obey
so my indebtedness
to Him I can repay.
I have me a credit,
there’s a balance due
the one way to pay it
is Jesus to follow You.
For, You’ve given me,
a life brand new
now in my Spirit
there is His too.
I have me a debt,
I’ll never pay it wholly
but I can live a life
righteous and holy!

But if the Spirit of him
that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ
from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies
by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Therefore, brethren,
we are debtors, not to the flesh,
to live after the flesh.
For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die: but if ye through
the Spirit do mortify the deeds
of the body, ye shall live.
