~ Man’s Heart of Stone ~

Man has a heart of stone,
for God there’s no desire
the Bible is meaningless
not a word does it inspire.
But Jesus can remove,
the stiffness and hardness
till it is a heart of flesh
resembling His likeness.
Man is dead in sin,
lives in utter darkness
sees no need for God . . .
due to his heart’s roughness.
But Jesus can fill,
every heart with His light
if only man no longer
this truth would fight.
Man’s heart is granite like,
it is as cold as stone
but God can carve it . . .
into one of His own!

and a new spirit will I put within
you: and I will take away the stony
heart out of your flesh, and I will
give you an heart of flesh.
